- 1 Package Yeast
- 1/4 Cup Water – Warm
- 1 Cup Milk – Scalded Then Cooled
- 3-4 Cups Flour
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 3 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 Eggs – Slightly Beaten
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
- 1/4 Cup Butter – Softened
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Directions
Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in cooled milk and 1 cup of flour, beating until smooth; let stand until light and bubbly, about 1/2 hour.
Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and salt. Work in remaining flour to make a soft dough. Add raisins. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl and cover and let rize until doubled, about 1 hour.
Roll dough out into 12-inch x 18-inch rectangle. Spread with softened butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up jelly-roll fashion and slice into 24 pieces. Place rolls close together in buttered 9x13 pan. Let rise again until doubled.
Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes. Remove from pan by turning onto a rack. While stile warm, mix icing and dribble over the rolls.
For icing: mix together powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
