Caramel Apple Wedges

Yeild: 6 Servings

  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Butter – Cut Into Small Pieces
  • 1/2 Cup Whipping Cream
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Apples – Cored And Cut Into Wedges
  • 1/2 Cup Coconut
  • 1/4 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips


Directions

Place sugar in a medium, heavy sacuepan and cook over low heat until sugar melts, about 20 minutes. Add butter and cream (be careful; mixture will sputter). Cook over low heat until any lumps disappear, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in salt.

Pour caramel sauce into a bowl. Mix coconut and chocolate chips and place in a separate bowl. Serve with apple wedges - they are dipped in the caramel sauce and then in the coconut mixture.
