Submitted By:   Todd Carlson

  • 1 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Instant Yeast
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter – Melted
  • 1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

Directions

Scald milk. Meanwhile, in the bowl of a mixer, place butter, sugar, and salt. Pour scalded milk over the butter and allow to cool to lukewarm.

Add 3 cups of the flour and the yeast and mix until combined. Allow to sit for 15 minutes. Add the remaining 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup at a time, just until the dough comes together well and is not too sticky. You may not need to use all the flour - or you may need to use a bit more.

Pour about 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil into the bottom of a bowl and turn the dough into the oil. Flip the dough to cover on all sides with oil and cover the bowl. Allow the dough to rise till doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Once dough has risen, punch down and turn out onto a floured counter. Roll out to about 1/8-1/4 inch thickness. Brush the top of the dough with 3 Tablespoons of melted butter. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the top of the dough.

Roll up the dough like a jelly roll and, using a good knife or a piece of dental floss, cut rolls about 1 inch thick and place in a greased baking pan. Allow the rolls to rise till doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!
