- 2 Pkgs Yeast
- 1/2 C Water – Warm
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 C Shortening
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 4 1/2 C Flour
- 1 C Milk – Warm
- Butter – Melted
Directions
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 C warm water; set aside. In mixing bowl, mix eggs. Add shortening, sugar, salt, and 1 c. flour. Mix well. ADd yeast mixture and mix. Add 1 more cup flour and mix. Add warm milk and mix. Add 2 1/2 c. flour and mix. (the dough will still be very sticky). Let rise untl double (1-1/2 hours) Punch down in bowl. Let rise again in gridge until double (2+ hours). Punch down. Roll out and cut in circles. Cip bottom half in butter. Put in 9x13 pan, butter side down. Let rise in pan 45 min-1 hour. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
